On August 27, 1906, Coldwell Banker® was founded by a young real estate agent, Colbert Coldwell. His goal was to create a company that would offer honest, fair and exceptional service to everyone following the earthquake and fire that nearly destroyed San Francisco, California in the same year. Eventually, he formed a partnership with Arthur Banker, and in 1924 they named the company Coldwell Banker®. Today, the brand is recognized as the oldest real estate company in the United States and the premier real estate organization in the world with 89,710 Sales Associates and Brokers, 1,074 U.S. Affiliated Companies, and more than 900 offices in 50 countries around the globe.

The legacy of Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty, LLC began in 1958, when Carl D. Alfonso, a Gulfport native and local businessman, began a real estate sales career. After distinguishing himself as a sales associate and manager, Carl founded Alfonso Realty with his wife, Tommye. They were joined by their daughter, Carlene, who procured the company upon their retirement and was soon joined in the family business by Walter Ketchings, a successful commercial broker from Natchez, Mississippi. Carlene and Walter married, and in 1989 Alfonso Realty affiliated with Coldwell Banker® and became Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty, LLC.
